After performing together (though separately) in Diego Bianchi’s Rewinding in the Turku Performance Art Biennale, we decided to ”lyödä hynttyyt yhteen” as in get a collabotarion going on with my friend, Lisa Holmén. Lisa is actually nowadays as well a band mate of mine in the performance rock group called Miss Siwa.
The idea for this piece came from Lisa and to me it was genial due to it’s simplicity. The insignificance and pointlessness of performing the piece is why I adored the concept. It’s about nothing. To me inside the performance is a very western welfare state grown nihilistic little man.
Our initial idea was to do the performance in Turku at the Hirvensalo ski slope inviting an audience, but due to some logistical reasons we ended up doing it in Teijo without an audience. It changed the outlook of the performance however not the essence of it, the little man.
